"One dollar and eighty-seven cents"
This is a quote on page 165.
This quote reminded me of when my dad was growing up. Back when he was a kid one dollar and eighty-seven cents was a ton of money for a kid. Today, people would be lucky to but a pop for that amount. I think it goes to show how much the world and societies have changed over the last few decades. People should always keep in mind to be grateful and thankful for what you have. There are a ton of people who would die to have that much money.

Hi, Travis. I think you're right about the change over time. In the story, what does the amount indicate? Is it also small, or is it large? Why is the amount important to the characters? Nancy
